Company Information: The Department of Biostatistics is recruiting a tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. The Department is situated jointly within the College of Public Health and Health Professions (PHHP) and the College of Medicine (COM), in the new Clinical and Translational Research Building, facilitating multidisciplinary research. Faculty members pursue independent and collaborative research; they also teach in the MS and PhD in Biostatistics Programs and support a concentration in Biostatistics as part of the Masters of Public Health Program. They are advisors and mentors to a wide variety of students. Our current faculty members are leaders in big data analysis, cancer, genetics, infectious disease modeling and intervention studies, medial image processing, metabolomics data analysis, survival analysis, causal modeling, statistical methods of health surveys, high-dimensional inference, longitudinal data analysis, and clinical trials.
Position Title: Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Biostatistics
Duties and Responsibilities: The Department works closely with the NIH-funded Clinical and Translational Science Institute and is home to the Children’s Oncology Group Statistics and Data Center (COG SDC), the Center for Statistics and Quantitative Infectious Diseases and multiple NIH and other grants. The COG is the world’s largest NIH/NCI sponsored clinical trials organization devoted exclusively to childhood and adolescent cancer research (https://www.childrensoncologygroup.org).
Position Qualifications: Qualifications include a doctoral degree in biostatistics or related quantitative discipline. For senior hires, a record of academic accomplishments, scholarly recognition, external research support, and leadership responsibilities to warrant appointment at the level of professor or associate professor is essential. For hires at the assistant professor level, potential to develop such a record should be demonstrated. Substantial expertise in biostatistics, especially in clinical trials is essential.
Salary Range: Salary is negotiable, commensurate with rank.
