ON BECOMING AN ASSOCIATE ACTUARY

To become an Associate Actuary you must:

Pass four society exams

Complete three areas of VEE credits

Below we describe the opportunities given at the University of Florida to help students satisfy these

The VEE (Validation through Educational Experience) Credits:

Courses must be approved by the SOA (Approval Memorandum).

Students must take approved courses and achieve a grade of B or better in these courses.

Students can apply for VEE credits after they have passed two society exams

1) Economics (both macro and micro) - ECO 2013 and ECO 2023

2) Applied Statistics – STA 4210 and STA 4853

3) Corporate Finance – FIN 3403

Exam MF (2): Mathematics of Finance - background provided by STA 4183
Exam M (SOA): Actuarial Modeling or Exam 3 (CAS): Statistics and Actuarial Models
