Instructions and Check List for Graduate Students

 

It is the applicant’s responsibility to provide complete documentation to the Office of Graduate Admissions and the department. International Students will need to submit the Certification of Financial Responsibility to complete the formal admission process. The CFR will be sent from the International Student Center to the applicant after an offer of admissions has been made by the department. The following items should be sent to the Office of Admissions (MAIL DO NOT FAX):

  1. Application for Admission (web application only)
  2. $30 Application Fee (if not paying online)
  3. Official Test Scores (GRE all applicants & TOEFL or ILETS or MELA for international students only. NOTE: TOEFL is waived if you have studied in the U.S. for one year or longer.) The U.F. minimum TOEFL score is: 550 Paper-based, 213 Computer based & 80 Internet based. U.F. no longer has a minimum GRE but those admitted to our program usually score in the mid 1200's with quantitative scores in the high 700 to 800 range. The U.F. Institution code is 5812 and the department code is 0704.
  4. Official Transcripts (International students must submit credentials in the original language accompanied by an English translation and degree statement, if applicable)
  5. Florida Residency Affidavit ( US Citizens and US Resident Aliens who seek to qualify as a Florida Resident for tuition purposes)
  6. Conduct Declaration (on the application).

  1. Application for Assistantship
  2. Statement of Purpose (if you have included your statement of purpose on-line you do not need to send an additional copy to the department.
  3. Transcripts (send photocopies)
  4. Test Scores (send photocopies)
  5. Three (3) Letters of Recommendation (if your recommenders have submitted their letters on-line there is no need to submit additional letters to the department).

 If applying for the QSE3 IGERT Fellowship:

  1. in the submission of material to the department, include a statement indicating that you are simultaneously applying to the QSE3 IGERT
  2. complete the online application at QSE3.Centers.

Please submit only materials requested to the department. If additional materials are needed by the Admissions Committee you will be contacted via email.

After the application has been submitted, email the department of Statistics (gsa@stat.ufl.edu) that you have completed the online application process. Be sure to include your UFID number in your email, as failure to do so will delay processing of your application.
